Manchester United could make a surprise move to sign Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips at the end of the season, according to The Sun.
Phillips joined the Cityzens from Leeds United last year, but he has since struggled to become a key player under manager Pep Guardiola.
He has been ignored despite the absence of Rodri with suspensions. Guardiola has at times preferred to play defenders in the centre of the park.
The manager has publicly acknowledged that he does not fancy Phillips in his set-up. In our view, this could be his final season with the club.
Tottenham Hotspur are one of the contenders to land him but The Sun claim that United could also throw their name into the hat for the player.
It remains to be seen whether Phillips considers a move to Old Trafford, given the fierce old rivalry between Leeds and United over the years.
Phillips was reluctant to join the Red Devils in the first place due to this reason, and he may snub them for a move elsewhere next summer.
