LTE: Danielle Leonard represents needed change in Swampscott
press-releases

To the editor:

Why is Danielle Leonard the best candidate for the Select Board in Swampscott?

This is a decision about change. So much is and will be happening in Swampscott for the next decade.  There’s an old saying: “A good start makes for a good end.” This is the time to start fresh.

In a recent letter to The Daily Item on April 19, three past Select Board members said “…we believe we are making great progress in Swampscott, and that Katie (Arrington, Danielle’s opponent) is the candidate who will ensure that it continues.”  If that is what you want, then vote for Danielle’s opponent who will provide more of the same.

Do you want your voice to be considered in the decisions of the town government? Vote for Danielle. If you want the same people, the same ideas, vote for her opponent.

Do you feel that town committees need a more diverse membership, and that all those requesting to be on a board or committee meet with the Select Board, so everyone knows who’s applied? Vote for Danielle.

If you think decisions about the continuation of employment of the town administrator should be decided by the Select Board constituted at the time that the contract is slated to end, vote for Danielle.

Do you want candidates to make time for a televised townwide Select Board candidate forums? Danielle wanted to participate in one sponsored by The Daily Item this year. Unfortunately, her opponent didn’t follow the lead of most, if not all, of those prior and present Select Board members in making time to participate in such a forum.

We all must ask why do all these current and past Select Board members want Danielle’s opponent elected? They want the same old, same old town leadership.

Vote Danielle Leonard for Select Board on April 30. She will work for the changes that are best for Swampscott.
