Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has slammed his players after the 1-1 Premier League draw against Burnley at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils went into the game as clear favourites, but they struggled to convert multiple clear-cut chances in either half.
Antony gave them the lead in the 80th minute, but it was relinquished soon after. Andre Onana conceded a needless penalty.
United could not recover to secure another three points. They were unlucky to not receive a penalty in the lead-up to the equaliser.
Speaking after the game, the manager said that it was so unnecessary to give away the lead in the closing stages of the encounter.
He said: “We put ourselves in a winning position by playing some good football – creating loads of chances and then to give it away in the end in the final minutes it’s so unnecessary.”
Despite the stalemate, United continue to remain sixth in the table with 54 points after 33 games played.
